Arnold Ziffel, my cat, the CBC, Doukhobors and Lost Senses

Do you ever wonder what your pets do all day while you're at work and they're home alone?  The reason I ask is because I just recently heard of tv for pets, and I want to know if I'm the only one in the free world who had never heard of this!?  I guess it's been around a while, but I didn't know about it until earlier this evening....so it's new.......to me..
Maybe you have a dog...or a cat...or maybe you are one of those people who absolutely, must have, at all costs, some kind of exotic reptile, or simian or former food creature, (like when people have a pet cow, or a pig....like Arnold Ziffel!)
Whatever the pet, rest assured that they will no longer be bereft of entertainment while you are away toiling in the salt mines. I know it's a load off my mind!

Supposedly, if you put the show on when you go to work in the morning, the animal will be so entertained by it that they'll forget all about you and the fact that you're not there. It's like soap operas for animals...What a ridiculously extravagant culture we live in.
Speaking of extravagant, I don't have much faith in a video to hold the attention of my pet falcon while I'm away on business. He's easily distracted and cannot be held spell bound by anything on tv, with the exception of  the docudrama, 'Rodents of the World Run for their Lives'. I don't expect you to have seen that....it's an all falcon broadcast.
Anyways, I had always heard that animals (like dogs and cats) can't make out images on tv, or in photographs, so what would be the point of creating tv just for them?
Other animals, (like falcons and pigs), don't care what's on tv.

Now that I think of it though....my cat does watch tv since I got a flat screen. (This part is true. I didn't make it up like I did the part about the falcon.) She never watched the old tube tv. She knows what's worth while... it's part of her survival instinct.

....she doesn't watch it all the time, only when animals are on...shows about people bore her...as you can probably tell from the pic, she's an old, lazy, ...kind of whiny cat. She's the cat version of Roseanne..
She'll be 18 years old this year and there's not much she cares to take an interest in these days, however,  she'll perk right up and watch any other animal on tv, even if it's just a dog walking down the street...like in a commercial or something...
...(if you are watching a show that shows a dog walking down the street, chances are you're watching 'The Littlest Hobo', on CBC, and I would advise you to turn the channel immediately...go ahead...I'll walk you through it)
BTW...the CBC victims support group will be meeting in a one room, clapboard school house, in a wind ruffled field of  wheat, of a mid-nineteenth century farm owned by a bearded, plainly clad, Doukhobor egg farmer.

(The mules and oxen must've been watching tv!)

The funniest thing I heard on tv tonight: This was spoken to a guy with an eye injury...
"Don't worry. There's lots of great one-eyed entertainers, Like..........Sammy Davis Jr....and Jack Sparrow...and look at Stevie Wonder! He's done awesome with no eyes at all!"

In keeping with the new found theme of success in spite of  lost senses....here's a old bit from Lucy and Harpo Marx, who pretended to have no voice .....kind of an odd thing to pretend for forty years.....but still, it's funny.

And here is an example of an animal that has been deprived of television for far too long! Somebody please put on an episode of CHiPs for this poor creature, before he gets all nasty and suspicious.

Well, I'm off to work...the cat needs new videos! Try to hang on to all your senses....especially the common sense that we far too often go against....

                                                     (Go London....you're a rock star!)

Yeah, I've heard of TV for pets. And it's funny how they become so engrossed in a program about animals.

Hello. I saw the interesting pioneering photo of Doukhobor women ploughing the prairie soil in 1899. Those are my ancestors. Then you added a comment about 'nudity'. Please note that nudity is not the same as Doukhobors. Nudity was practiced by a few zealots and has nothing in common with Doukhobors. See my article on this theme on my blog:

Hey there Alex! It's true isn't it? My cat will seriously watch anything with another animal, but her favourites are shows with fish, and flocks of birds flying.

Hey Eve! I know eh?! My cat just got her first laptop...when I asked her what she was doing she just gave my a dirty look and kept on typing..and Arnold Ziffel was the cat's ass! He did love westerns didn't he?

Hey Shelly! I love your stories about your dogs! They are such characters...I haven't heard of pet radio! I swear I'm the last person to know about these things...I've heard of leaving the radio on for the pets though!

Ron! Hey buddy! I kind of agree with you...there are some new shows I like to watch, but I absolutely love Taxi! Especially Jim Ignatowski! He was so funny..the whole show was really good..also All in the Family, and Three's Company!

Hey,Koozma J. Tarasoff....what the hell are you on about?! I didn't add any "comment about nudity"...but, now that you remind me of it...the Doukhobors, or Sons of Freedom, were known as nudists, weren't they? I remember hearing stories of them when I was a kid.
I can stand to be corrected if I've made a mistake or misunderstood something, but to be called out for something I did not mention is not right..next post I'm gonna mention the hell out of naked Doukhbours...thanks for the suggestion! I can't believe I overlooked such a gold mine of material..They must've got some serious splinters during plowing season...and hey, every old picture on the net is of somebody's ancestors..the ability to laugh at ourselves and not take every little thing in life so seriously is what separates us from the animals, (that, plus a gigantic brain,(in most of us), and oppossable thumbs..plus the ability to appreciate Bob Dylan)
My ancestors are drunken Irishmen and Russian/Polish peasants...go ahead, there's plenty of questionable photos of any of them on the net...plus, my name is Eve, which is from the Hebrew....meaning..'morning sickness'
Anyways...have a great day.

Inflicting TV on our beloved pets, given what (we know) it does to human beings already?!
Loved your comments about one-eyed entertainers! Hilarious.
All The Best.
